
U.S. stocks opened lower on Monday, after hitting the S & P gains for six consecutive sessions, while the Japanese economy showed signs of weakness.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 24.23 points, or 0.18 percent to 13183.72 points. The benchmark S & P 500 broader 2.02 points, or 0.14 percent to 1403.85 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 0.89, or technology 0.03 percent to 3019.97 points.
