Demand for manufactured goods in the United States recorded the largest decline since January 2009

The Commerce Department said the U.S., demand for manufactured goods in the United States fell 5.2% in August, the biggest drop since January 2009.

The ministry added that the biggest drop in new orders for manufactured goods since the recession resulted in a significant decline in demand for transportation equipment.

The orders for manufactured goods has recorded an increase of 2.8% in July, and economists expect a decline of 5.8% in August, but excluding transportation equipment orders increased 0.7% in August after a similar increase in the previous month.

And showed a Commerce Department report that orders for transportation equipment fell 34.9% in August due to weak demand from factories civilian and military aircraft and vehicles
