U.S. stocks closed
slightly higher yesterday, Wednesday, due to stronger-than-expected data for the services sectors and jobs in the United States, but
the Dow Jones Industrial Average retreat affected Hewlett-Packard.
The Dow Jones industrial average DJI 12.48 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 13494.84 points, the benchmark S & P 500 broader 5.22 points, or 0.36 percent, to 1450.97 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index, which IXIC Technology 15.19 points, or 0.49 percent, to 3135.23 points.
