U.S. stocks fell after the opening, on Tuesday, as investors can not find a strong justification for buying after recent rally, while awaiting the start of the announcement of quarterly results for U.S. companies later in the day.
The Dow Jones industrial average DJI 22.73 points, or 0.17%, to 13560.92 points, the benchmark Standard & Poor's 500 was up 2.27 points, or 0.16% to 1453.61.
The Nasdaq Composite Index lost laced technology companies 9.84 points, or 0.32% to 3102.52 points.
